Birdhouses

Project Type: Monoprints + Architectural Renders
Date Completed: Spring 2025

...Is a love letter to the irrational moments within the rationality of architecture, inspired by the fantastical yet strangely plausible cities in Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. It explores how structural unpredictability can become an asset rather than a limitation.

The process begins with stamp printing, where each print takes shape through the layering of root, trunk, branch, and canopy elements. These initial compositions are then translated into 3D models and represented through digital renders. Scaled to the proportions of a bird’s habitat, these "houses" embrace their structural irregularities, allowing spontaneity to guide form.

Rather than resolving into certainty, the work lingers in a space of inquiry—where composition meets intuition, and structure bends toward the unexpected. It asks what happens when the balance between function and form slips, inviting new possibilities to emerge in the gaps left behind.
