Birdhouses

Project Type: Monoprints + Renders
Date Completed: Ongoing
Location: Providence, RI

…Is an exploration of irrational architecture, examining the concept of shelter—its purpose, recipients, and boundaries. The process begins with stamp printing where each print is generated by incorporating a root, trunk, branch, and canopy element. These initial structures are translated into 3D models and assembled into dynamic digital collages. Scaled to the proportions of a bird’s habitat, these "houses" embrace their structural irrationality, transforming it into a design asset rather than a limitation.

The work serves as a starting point for a broader inquiry into the role of design and composition in crafting inhabitable spaces. It begins to illustrate and question what occurs when the delicate balance between function and form is disrupted and challenges conventional notions of architectural logic and purpose.
